The second key visual and second main PV for the new anime “Murai no Koi,” scheduled to start broadcasting in October 2024, have been released. Additional character information and comments from the cast members Goto Saori, Sasaki Miku, and Hirose Yuuki have also been released. The opening theme will be “Henshin!” by Rinu (Strawberry Prince). Details of distribution and broadcasting have also been released.
“Murai no Koi” is a highly heartwarming romantic comedy manga serialized by Shima Junta on the electronic comic service “LINE Manga” limited label “Gene LINE” from 2018 to 2022. In 2022, it won second place in the Web Manga category of the “Next Manga Awards 2019” after “SPY×FAMILY; it was made into a drama by TBS starring Takahashi Hikaru and Miyase Ryuya.
The story revolves around Murai, a high school sophomore who falls in love with his teacher Tanaka, and Ayano Tanaka, who is in love with Hitotose, a character from a girls’ game. The newly released second visual shows Tanaka running away from Murai, who is offering him a wedding ring with a game console in hand. It also features Murai’s guards, Nishito Yuka and Nishito Hitomi, as well as Murai’s childhood friend Fukunaga Yayoi, Murai’s friends Kiriyama (voiced by Amasaki Kohei), Hirai (voiced by Ishiya Haruki ), and the head teacher Yamakado (voiced by Matsukaze Masaya).
The second main PV was also released, and the voices of Yuka, Hitomi, and Yayoi were revealed for the first time. The PV is an extreme PV typical of “Murai’s Love,” with the characters surrounding Murai expressing their love with all their might, set to the opening theme, “Henshin!” by Strawberry Prince. The opening theme has been decided to be “Henshin!” by Riin (Strawberry Prince). The sound source was released for the first time in the second main PV.
“Henshin!” is a new song written specifically for “Murai no Koi,” and Riin (Strawberry Prince) said, “I sang it with all my heart so that I could pack in Murai’s huge love with all my might! I’m sure you’ll be overwhelmed by the love and momentum, and by the time you finish listening to it, you’ll be crying because love is so good! I’m sure…! (laughs)”.
Along with the ending theme “Suko” by Yabai T-shirt Shop, which has already been released, it will color the world view of the work. I look forward to the OP and ED animations that will be made to match the song. Additional character and cast information has also been released. It was announced that Goto Saori would voice the twin sister, Nishito Yuka, a godly artist; Sasaki Miki will voice the younger sister, Nishito Hitomi, a cosplayer, and Hirose Yuki will voice Fukunaga Yayoi, Murai’s childhood friend who is devotedly in love.
Each of them commented, with Goto saying, “I can’t help but love the characters who live their lives to the fullest. I hope you’ll look forward to the wild exchanges with Hitomi-chan,” Sasaki said, “Hitomi is a full-power otaku girl! I’m looking forward to seeing the characters’ passion conveyed even more in the anime.” Hirose said, “I tried my best to empathize with Yayoi-chan’s pure feelings, who has a brutal past, and did my best in the dubbing,” in a non-stop and extreme comment on her memories of dubbing.
TV broadcast and distribution information was also announced. The show will air on TOKYO MX, BS Nippon Television, and Biwako Broadcasting every Sunday from 23:30 starting October 6, 2024 (Sun).
The series will be available exclusively on Disney+ from Wednesday, September 4, 2024, ahead of the TV broadcast. Please look forward to the radio and streaming! *The correct spelling of the character “崎” in Amasaki Kohei’s name is “大” with “立”.
