The Netflix series “Baki-Dou” has been announced for a worldwide exclusive release in 2026, along with a teaser trailer and teaser art. This announcement was made during the Netflix 10th Anniversary Special Talk Show “Baki Series x BEASTARS” held on September 5, 2025. Four first looks from the Netflix series “BEASTARS FINAL SEASON” Part 2 were unveiled all at once, hinting at the shocking climax.
The “Baki” series is a hugely popular fighting manga with over 100 million copies in circulation, depicting the battles between various fighters centered around the deadly struggle between Hanma Baki and his father, Hanma Yujiro, known as “the strongest creature on earth.” Netflix is currently exclusively streaming the anime series “Baki” and “Hanma Baki.” With each new series, viewing hours have grown exponentially, sparking a global craze that transcends borders, even in South America, where martial arts culture is deeply rooted. It has now been announced that “Baki-Dou” will be available exclusively worldwide in 2026, along with the release of a teaser trailer and art.
“Baki-Dou” depicts Baki Hanma (voiced by Shimazaki Nobunaga) as he emerges from the greatest father-son battle in history with his father, the strongest living creature on earth, Yujiro Hanma. Following this, Baki and his friends lead dreary lives until an unprecedented, god-defying experiment by Tokugawa Mitsunari, who yearns for the strongest, transforms their lives.
The teaser trailer begins with a narration that reads, “After the greatest father-son battle on earth, these men are bored,” as images of Doppo Orochi, Jack Hammer, Kaoru Hanayama, and other fierce warriors are shown in rapid succession. Just as Baki is about to succumb to boredom, he is confronted by the unexpected presence of Japan’s greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi.
Miyamoto Musashi, descending to the present day, attacks Baki and his friends as a new threat, combining herculean strength and lightning-fast swordsmanship. What will the outcome be in this unprecedented, time-and-space-transcending “mixed martial arts battle” between the strongest underground arena fighter and a legendary swordsman? The history of strength is about to change. And now, a first look has arrived from “BEASTARS FINAL SEASON” Part 2, currently in production for a worldwide exclusive release in 2026. Set in a world where carnivores and herbivores coexist, this “animal coming-of-age human drama” follows Legoshi (voiced by Kobayashi Chikahiro), a troubled young gray wolf, as he grows up while struggling with the differences between his species.
The final season follows Legoshi, who leaves school for specific reasons and sets out into society to start a new life. The first look for Part 2 features Legoshi with a dignified expression, along with Legoshi’s first love, Haru (voiced by Senbongi Ayaka), and senior Louis (voiced by Ono Yuki), who always seems to care about Legoshi. Juno (voiced by Tanezaki Atsumi), a junior in the drama club who once had feelings for Legoshi but now has feelings for Louis; Pina (voiced by Kaji Yuki), a popular male who often flirts with Legoshi; and Melon (voiced by Okino Koji ), a thug from the underworld who is closing in on Legoshi and his friends.
Everyone looks serious, hinting at a shocking climax leading up to the finale. Why are Juno and Pina in such a tense mood? And what’s next for the awkward-looking Louis and the flustered Legoshi? It’s also interesting to note that Haru and Melon are in the same room. In FINAL SEASON Part 2, the conflict between Legoshi and Melon intensifies as one mystery after another unfolds, but what lies beyond this deadly battle? Matsumi Shinichi, who has been the director since the first season of the anime, commented, “The confrontation between Legoshi and Melon, Louis’ resolve, and Haru’s unwavering determination. Fangs and horns clash, and friendship, love, and pride are put to the test in this turbulent climax. What does it mean to transcend species? Is love a strength or a weakness? This finale of the series is not only their story, but also a question about the world we live in. Please watch until the end.”
The conclusion of this wildly popular “animal-themed coming-of-age ensemble drama” featuring young beasts confronting their instincts is fast approaching. Netflix, which launched in Japan in September 2015, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Japanese content, including anime, is the second most-watched in the world (excluding English-language content), and Japanese creativity is gaining increasing international attention every year.
A story born from Netflix that will captivate, stir emotions, and enthuse viewers.
