The “Bad Batch” is a “heretical” elite clone force that appears in the animated series “The Clone Wars,” which was created by George Lucas and directed by Dave Filoni. The final season (Season 3) of the “Star Wars: Bad Batch” series, which depicts them as the main characters, was released on February 21st. For the first time, three episodes from episode 1 to episode 3 will be distributed simultaneously. I will review the first episode, “Prisoner,” where Omega, a pure-hearted and kind-hearted girl, made me go crazy. (The following contains spoilers)
A little review of the end of “Season 2” that leads to the captured Omega and Crosshair Season 3. Crosshair was captured after attacking an Imperial superior who declared the clone soldiers “disposable” and said, “There are always plenty of replacements.” Hunters chasing such crosshairs. Tek sacrifices his life to save his friends, and Hunter and Wrecker try to let Omega escape, but Omega is also captured by Dr. Hemlock while trying to save them.
The wreckers try to follow Dr. Hemlock’s ship carrying Omega but lose sight of it and cannot track it. Omega is reunited with medical scientist Nara Se at the location where he was taken. There, she was also able to meet her captive Crosshair. Furthermore, Season 2 ended with him meeting Emery, who is said to be Omega’s sister.
The first episode of Season 3, “Prisoner,” revolves around Omega and Crosshair. As Omega himself said, “I felt like a prisoner,” he was kept in a small room with a window but lived a life with little freedom. She is asked to help Emery with her task, which involves delivering blood samples from her prisoners to Nara Se. Omega’s blood was also drawn before being transported and added to the sample being transported.
Emery says it’s a “daily routine,” from then on, she will have her blood drawn daily. Nala Se noticed Omega in her blood sample, which she discarded without analysis. Something has become apparent here. The Empire aimed to “enhance the M (midi-chlorian) value through genetic engineering,” Nara Se was forcibly brought to Hemlock for this research.
The importance of her “M value,” which determines her Force sensitivity, should become apparent in the future. Still, since Nala-Se could be more cooperative, he captures Omega, her former girlfriend’s assistant, and brings him in. Like Omega, Nara Se is treated like a “prisoner” and is making a small effort to resist the Empire. She probably discarded Omega’s sample because she knew Omega’s blood contained something that enhanced their “M-values.”
Omega’s job is to feed the Omega hounds, who are gentle even when they are ferocious. Among them was a hound whom he called “Batcher” and who cared about him by sharing his food with him. It’s probably named after the Bad Batch. Seeing an opening, Omega also goes to see Crosshair and tells him, “Let’s run away together,” but Crosshair is pessimistic, saying, “There is no way out.”
However, Omega, who cares about his friends, never gives up. Around the middle of the first episode, the doll made from the straw collected in the area where the Hound is is completed, and Omega’s hair has grown long enough to be tied at the back, indicating that it has been a while since he came here. I understand that. Blood is still being drawn as a “daily” routine, and Nara Se’s routine is to dispose of it.
Batcher seems to have gotten used to Omega a little but was injured during a night patrol. Omega hears that he will be killed if he doesn’t recover, so Omega treats him with medicine. She also seems to visit Crosshair regularly, but Crosshair is also quite stubborn. He tells Omega that if he wants to get out of there, he has to put his goals first and not worry about himself or the Hound. However, what is essential to Omega is his “friends,” who are like family. “I don’t like it unless we’re together,” she said stubbornly.
This is because both care about the other person. Butcher’s injuries were beginning to recover, but the tame hunting dog was judged unable to fulfill its role and was put down. He defeats the surveillance droid and frees Batcher, but Hemlock tells him that he has done something cruel, saying, “No matter how strong the Hound is, it is difficult to survive outside the base.”
However, he was not intimidated by this and retorted, “Maybe I can survive. If I have a chance.” Omega rebels against Hemlock’s words and even throws provocative words at him. Emery intervenes and tries to stop him, but Hemlock says, “Someone has to sacrifice,” which hints at Crosshair’s punishment.
