The animation industry in Taiwan received a lot of consignment work from the United States and Japan in the 1970s, and in the 1980s, Taiwan’s commercial animation was produced. Higher education began in earnest in Taiwan in the latter half of the 1990s, and specialized departments were established, making many excellent human resources. And since the 2000s, Taiwanese commercial animators have demonstrated their individuality, creating a variety of rich visual styles and shaping the characteristics of today’s Taiwanese animation.
This exhibition focuses on Taiwan’s excellent animated films and TV series released in the past year.` It introduces the uniqueness of Taiwanese commercial animation that combines the grammar of Japanese animation with the expressive power of North American energy. It aims to promote exchanges between Taiwan and the Japanese animation industry and lay the foundation for long-term cooperation.
