Studio Eclypse is remaking Berserk, the popular manga series by Kentaro Miura.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Studio Eclypse has revealed in a new tweet that the next trailer for their project will be released in May 2024.
“Day of the Eclypse,” a brand-new key graphic for Studio Eclypse’s Berserk: The Black Swordsman, was unveiled along with the game’s release date.
An independent production company called Studio Eclypse declared in October 2023 that it was bringing underutilized Berserk legends to life in two dimensions. Pre-production has already commenced, and they will commence from the very beginning. On X, they released a teaser trailer.
Studio Eclypse previously tweeted that the Otakufest in Saltillo, Mexico will have a live screening of the Berserk trailer and behind-the-scenes video. In case you’re unaware, May 18 and May 19 are Otakufest dates.
The good news is that Ale, the animator behind Berserk: The Black Swordsman, revealed that the trailer will also be posted to their social media accounts in response to a Tweet regarding how fans who cannot attend Otakufest will be able to view it.
“Berserk: The Golden Age Arc,” a trilogy of films from Studio 4°C that repeated the same story arc with enhanced graphics and a streamlined plot, was released in 2012. The use of computer-generated imagery (CGI), which felt out of place and took away from the entire viewing experience, displeased fans, nevertheless.
The Conviction and Falcon of the Millennium Empire arcs were tried to be covered in the most recent adaptation, a two-season anime series produced by GEMBA and Millepensee that aired in 2016 and 2017. Unfortunately, the overuse of computer-generated imagery and the hurried pacing resulted in a generally unfavorable response from both reviewers and fans.
