Stills from “The Wolf House,” Directed by the Chilean artist duo Cristóbal Leon and Joaquín Coxinha, this film garnered attention for its highly original and nightmarish visual style, becoming a huge hit that shook the Japanese independent theater scene.

The story begins in a German village in southern Chile, surrounded by nature, where a beautiful young woman named Maria, who loves animals, lives. One day, Maria lets a pig escape and, unable to bear the harsh punishment, runs away. Taking refuge in a house, she encounters two piglets, naming them “Pedro” and “Ana,” and decides to care for them.

However, her relief is short-lived as she hears the cries of wolves searching for her from deep in the forest. As if responding to Maria’s frightened state, the piglet transforms into a terrifying figure, and the house transforms into a nightmarish, sinister world.
