It has been decided that the TV anime “The Summer Hikaru Died, ” scheduled to be broadcast and distributed in the summer of 2025, will be exhibited at “Anime Expo 2025,” the most significant Japanese pop culture event in North America, to be held in Los Angeles, USA.
The event will take place from July 3rd to 6th, and the exhibit will be located at the CyberAgent Group booth in the Los Angeles Convention Center.
“The Summer Hikaru Died” is a youth horror story about an ordinary high school boy, Yoshiki, who experiences various mysterious incidents around him while living with Hikaru, a ghostly being who imitates his childhood friend, Hikaru Ido.
The TV anime is scheduled to be exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix in the summer of 2025 and will also be available for free on ABEMA, as well as broadcast on terrestrial TV via Nippon TV.
This year’s Anime Expo will feature a photo booth and exhibits showcasing setting materials from the series, as well as the North American premiere screening of the first episode on July 4. There will also be a talk panel featuring the original author, Mokumoku Ren, and Chiaki Kobayashi (voice of Yoshiki Tsujinaka).
