An additional cast for the TV anime “Urusei Yatsura” has been announced, revealing that Shizuka Ishigami will play the role of Benten.
This work is a re-animation of all four courses to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Shogakukan’s founding of Rumiko Takahashi’s manga “Urusei Yatsura.” A romantic comedy centering on the earth’s “most evil” high school student, Ataru Moroboshi (CV: Hiroshi Kamiya), and the beautiful girl Ram (Sumire Uesaka), a “demon girl” who flew down from outer space. The first period, which will start in October on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” and others, will be broadcast for two consecutive courses.
Benten, played by Ishigami, is Ram’s childhood friend. She is a beautiful woman with a determined personality, and it is an annual event for her to have a battle between Ram’s “Demon Army” and Benten’s “Fuku no God Army” on Setsubun. Yuko Mita was in charge of the voice in the old TV anime version.
The full comment from Ishigami is below.

Q1 What does Urusei Yatsura mean to you, Mr. Ishigami?
A masterpiece that existed before she was born. Lam-chan is a girl that everyone knows and loves even after decades…I think she’s fantastic! But, of course, there are many characters other than Ramu have only individuality, and I love Rumiko-sensei’s works that will never fade no matter what time it is read.
Q2. Please tell us about Benten’s charm, what you want to cherish in playing the role, and what you look forward to.
Benten-Sama has a masculine and competitive personality, but she is a child who understands the charm of a woman properly, so I think it would be nice if I could play her with a good balance.
As a childhood friend of Ram, I look forward to interacting with various people!
