The anniversary dates back to 1848, when a grain of gold was discovered in California, USA. This event, which saw miners flock to California to make a fortune, is called the Gold Rush.
Gold is a very eye-catching color because it shines beautifully. Many characters in anime are associated with money, such as those with blonde hair, glittering golden costumes, and wealthy millionaires.
Anime there! Anime! So, we conducted our annual reader survey entitled, “Which character has gold as their image color?” We received responses from 480 people from January 9th to January 16th during the survey period.
The male-to-female ratio was approximately 30% male and 65% female, with approximately 5% not responding. The age group was mainly young, approximately 50% under 19 and 20% in their 20s.
