TV anime appeals not only for its main story but also for its theme songs, which condense the world of the series into 1 minute and 30 seconds. This season also boasts a diverse selection of songs. Which theme songs have captured fans’ hearts? So, Anime! Anime! Conducted a reader survey titled “Which Summer 2025 Anime Opening Theme Songs Are Your Favorite?” We received 106 responses from July 30th to August 5th.

The gender ratio was approximately 40% male and 60% female, with a slight female predominance. The age demographic was primarily younger, with approximately 40% under 19 years old and approximately 35% in their 20s. In this article, we will reveal the results for the opening theme songs.

The story begins with a collection of classic opening songs! The top spot goes to “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2” (sequel). The support rate was approximately 12 percent. The opening theme for this series is “Kagome Kagome” by Masayoshi Oishi. “Oishi, who has worked on opening themes throughout the series, has once again skillfully integrated the world of ‘Hanako-kun’ into the lyrics and melody. The scene where the phrase ‘Kagome Kagome’ plays in particular gave me goosebumps!” and “It gets your imagination flowing with the story this season, and it’s wonderful how it conveys the atmosphere of the characters. I’m even more curious to see what happens next.”

The song received high praise for its closeness to the series. Second place was tied between “Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 4” and “Ruri no Houseki.” The support rate was approximately 7 percent. The opening theme for “Rent-A-Girlfriend” is “Umitsuki” by ClariS. Readers also expressed support for their new start as artists, saying, “The fairy-tale-like visuals and ClariS’s crystal-clear vocals combined to draw me into the world of the story,” and “This is ClariS’s first anime song, now a trio, and the clarity is a perfect fit for ‘Kanojo, Okarishimasu.’ It’s truly amazing how they can create masterpieces no matter what work they collaborate with.”

The opening theme for “Ruri no Houseki” is Rei Yasuda’s “Hikari no Sumika.” Some readers commented that the song beautifully captures the theme of the work, saying, “Her mystical vocals are like the ores that have been created over tens of thousands of years, conveying a message from the Earth. It resonated with me,” and “The story depicts a journey of mineral collecting, and the beauty of the ores is impressive, as are the magnificent natural scenery, such as rivers and caves. I was moved by the song, which even feels like the breath of the Earth.”
