TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Korean beauty standards are not progressive and have influenced thousands of women worldwide to change themselves with the help of various expensive plastic surgeries. It is ubiquitous in South Korea to get plastic and cosmetic surgery to justify these standards, which are the objectification of the human body without superficial individuality.

But gen Z changed this convention and ushered in an era of inclusive beauty standards. Like some of these K-pop idols don’t follow the old-fashioned beauty standards and look more beautiful with their unique features and fan base, growing in the millions. Some Korean beauty standards include a V-shaped face, porcelain white skin, clean skin, thigh gap, double eyelids, heart-shaped lips, long nose, and parallel teeth.

Although it may look different due to following beauty standards, remember as Kim Namjoon, the leader of the BTS group, said, “Even if you’re not perfect, you’re a limited edition.”
