Korean-American K-pop singer Alexa (Alexa, Se-ri Kim) said this at a showcase commemorating the release of her new mini-album, which she opened online and offline on the 11th.
Alexa was released at 12 noon on the same day worldwide. It has been ten months since the single ‘Tattoo’ was released in January. This is his first album after winning the American Song Contest (NBC), a music contest program that aired across the United States in May.
The, which Alexa won, was the largest live music contest in the United States, with 56 teams representing 50 states, Washington, DC, and five foreign territories competing. Alexa, who participated as the representative of Oklahoma, showed off her powerful performance and singing skills from her small 150cm body. Alexa won the championship after a month of competing with prominent pop stars such as Michael Bolton, Macy Gray, Jordan Smith, and Alan Stone.
Alexa said, “I have been active in the United States since winning. He came to Korea after finishing his US tour and fan meeting.” He said, “I haven’t been active in Korea for a long time, but I’m very nervous and looking forward to releasing a new album this time.”
The new album focused on encompassing various genres Alexa had not tried before, such as synth pop and R&B pop. The title song, ‘Back in Vogue,’ is a song that sensibly encompasses pop, old jazz, and old-school hip-hop from the 1980s and 1990s.
Alexa said about this album, “I’m looking forward to being able to show you a new side of me. It will be a little chic,” he said.
The album contains six songs. Producer Hwang Seong-jin of RBW’s ‘Hit Song Maker’ took charge of the overall production. Mamamoo’s Moonbyul also participated in the featuring. The song ‘Black Out,’ composed by Alexa herself, was also included.
Alexa said about her work with Moonbyul, “I once appeared in Mamamoo sunbaenim’s music video when I was a trainee. He never imagined working on an album together. Being with Moonbyul sunbaenim is like magic.”
Alexa picked an artist she would like to join the dance/TikTok challenge. It was Le Seraphim Heo Yunjin. Alexa said, “Le Seraphim Heo Yun-jin is my friend. I wish she could do the dance and TikTok challenges together.”
Alexa will be active starting with (Culture Broadcasting) on the 12th. He said, “The goal of this album is to make my name known to many people,” he said.
