Netflix’s new drama ‘Wednesday’ surpasses ‘Stranger Things’ in playing time.

Netflix announced that its new drama “Wednesday,” which began streaming worldwide on November 23, has surpassed the popular drama “Stranger Things.”

“Wednesday” is a spin-off with Wednesday, the eldest daughter of the “Addams Family” as the main character and the story that she enters Nevermore Academy and explores the mystery of a bizarre murder. The genius Tim Burton is directing, and Alfred Gaff and Miles Miller, the screenwriter duo of ‘Young Superman’ and ‘Badland’s Strongest Warrior, ‘are in charge of planning and production.

According to Netflix, “Wednesday” recorded 341.2 million hours of playback in the first distribution week. In addition, season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ surpassed the 335 million hours set between May 30 and June 30 this year. ‘Wednesday’ is No. 1 in 83 countries, and Netflix estimates it was watched by more than 50 million households worldwide.

By the way, the No. 1 in Netflix history is “Squid Game,” which was played for 571.76 million hours from September 27 to October 3, 2009. The game has surpassed 400 million hours over the next two weeks.
