Dos Monos has produced the music for the new short animation “Chimpui: Eri-samp’s Good Luck,” which will be screened on May 21 at the F Theater in the

“Chimpui: Eri-sama’s Good Luck” is an entirely original animation produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the manga “Chimpui” this year. Misaki Kuno, the voice of Kasuga Eri by Megumi Han, and the voice of Wanda Yu by Kouichi Yamadera play the voice of Chimpui. The director is animation director Nobutaka Yoda, who has worked on the opening theme for the TV anime “Doraemon,” and the character design is by Naoyuki Asano, who has worked on “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the New Steel Troops: Winged Angels.”

Zhuangzi, who is in charge of the music for this film, commented, “Just like Eli-chan, who rebels against the stereotypical Cinderella story, it’s not easy to follow, but you’ll naturally fall in love with its unrestrainedness. I want to create music that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike and fill the F Theater with excitement!” Zhuangzi it (Dos Monos) Comment: Just by shouting “Chimpui!” doesn’t it simultaneously bring a cheerful brightness and a mysterious sense of humor?

The more you look at Chimpui’s face, the more you feel that it’s not just cute but also the unfathomable depths of an alien. Just like Eli-chan, who rebels against the stereotypical Cinderella story, it’s not easy to follow, but you’ll naturally fall in love with its unrestrainedness. I want to create music that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike and fill the F Theater with excitement! Director Nobutaka Yoda Comment Chimpui is in the lineage of the “what if” stories that Mr. F has drawn, but I think it’s a work that goes beyond that.

There is something beautiful beyond “I wish it were so”! Please enjoy! Comment from Azusa Serigawa (scriptwriter): Her positive attitude of trying to jump over the wall no matter how many times she fails, her honesty in refusing things she doesn’t understand, and her toughness in boldly taking on adventures and troubles. We’ve packed Eri’s charm into this short story. Please come and meet this slightly mysterious Cinderella.

Comment from Naoyuki Asano (character designer): Pampaka-paaaaah! I never thought I’d get to meet Chimpui and Eri again! I’m honored to be involved in Fujiko F’s work for the first time in a long time since the “Doraemon” movie series. What kind of work will it be? I’m the most excited one!

Comment from Misaki Kuno: I’m Misaki Kuno, and I will play the role of Chimpui. I’m honored to be involved in this work that many have loved for so long.. I’ll do my best to portray the humorous and adorable Chimpui!

Comment from Megumi Han In the world of “Chimpui” created by Fujiko F. Fujio, as Eri-chan, an unimaginable future has arrived. Although Chimpui can grant any wish, I believe that his law is to bring people back to the right path. So I hope to invite everyone along with Chimpui and Wandayu without compromising the charm of Eri-chan, who is so honest that her tomboyishness and laziness are her charm points!!

Koichi Yamadera commented: I have often participated in Fujiko F. Fujio’s works as a voice actor and played the main character in the drama ‘33,000 Square Mete’s” (NHK). I am thrilled to have been asked to play the role of Wandayu this time! The image of my beloved Joji Yanami remains strong, but I will do my best to make it enjoyable for many people! ©Fujiko-Pro
