The key visual and trailer for Pixar Animation Studios’ original animated series, ‘Win or Lose,’ have been released. The series will be exclusively distributed on Disney+ from Wednesday, February 19th.

This work depicts the eight mixed-gender junior high school softball team “Pickles” members preparing for a big tournament one week away with various thoughts. The series comprises eight episodes depicting the same week from multiple perspectives, including the players, their families, and the umpire. The key visual released this time seems to express the emotions of each character, such as anxiety and worries, and their expressions are also impressive.

The trailer released simultaneously also comically depicts the players’ anxiety and failures while asking viewers what “winning or losing,” the title and theme of the work, means. Questions include: “When someone wins, someone else will lose,” and “No matter what the result, you all win .”

“Will they be able to face the anxiety and impatience that attacks them and win the game of “life”…? The trailer builds expectations for the story of the struggle to win told from the perspectives of eight players, their coaches, and their families, with their unique personalities. Writer, director, and executive producer Carrie Hobson said, “I’ve played softball since I was a child, and that experience inspired us to think that softball was the perfect subject for this story. We felt it was an opportunity to create a truly special world.” She continued, “The world of sports has many different sides to it, and I love all of it. Sports can bring out the best and the worst in people.

Even the calmest people can get emotional, and when it comes to winning or losing, the result seems unimportant, as if that’s all that matters. We felt it was the perfect platform to depict the themes we love.” She spoke about the world of sports and her feelings about putting it into the story. According to Michael Yates, who wrote, directed, and executive produced the film with Carrie Hobson, highlighting different perspectives was born from everyday life at the company.

“Carrie and I worked together on Toy Story 4. We talked a lot about what was happening in the film, what was happening in the world, current events, and the news. We always have different reactions and interpretations of the same things. One person might say, ‘That was great!’ The other might say, ‘No, that was terrible.’ We realized that our own experiences influence our perception of things. We aimed to tell a story that tells such a lesson,” he said. “Win or Lose” will be available exclusively on Disney + from Wednesday, February 19th.
