UNISON SQUARE GARDEN will be performing the opening and ending theme songs for the anime “Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki,” which will begin airing on TBS in January 2026.

“Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki” is an anime based on the popular manga by Yamamori Mika. It depicts a life-sized love story between a first-year high school girl, Takiguchi Yoi, and her senior at the same school, Ichimura Kohaku, both of whom are known as “princes” around school.

The original work is a popular work that ranked 4th in “This Manga is Amazing! 2022 Women’s Edition,” won second place in the “12th anan Manga Awards,” and took first place in the “Recommended Girls’ Comics 2022 Selected by Booksellers Nationwide.”

This collaboration was made possible thanks to a longstanding relationship between the composer, Tomoya Tabuchi (bass), who is a fan of Yamamori’s work. He has previously composed songs reminiscent of his work and even spoken to Yamamori about the release of the first volume of the “Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki” manga.

Regarding the theme song, Tabuchi reflected, “Through conversations with Yamamori-sensei, Director Maruyama, and the anime staff, I came up with the idea of ’the undeniable edge that only a rock band can have’ and ‘the sexiness that vocalist Kosuke Saito brings to this work.’ I aimed for that, captured the melody and lyrics that emerged, and completed the song.”

The opening theme song is titled “Uruwashi,” and the ending theme song is titled “Azalea no Kaze.” It was also announced that the title of UNISON SQUARE GARDEN’s nationwide tour, which begins on December 5, has been decided as “Uruwashi no Mae no Yoru.”

The tour will feature the opening theme song “Uruwashi” before the anime’s broadcast. Tomoya Tabuchi’s comment: I discovered Yamamori-sensei’s work through a friend, Tsuno Misaki. I was so moved by each piece that I started secretly composing songs on my own, but eventually, I ended up doing this. When I first heard about the project, I wondered whether a rock band’s voice and sound would really fit Yamamori-sensei’s beautiful world.

However, after speaking with Yamamori-sensei, Director Maruyama, and the rest of the anime staff, I realized the “unconcealable edge that only a rock band can have” and the “sexiness that vocalist Saito Kosuke brings to the project, which is compatible with this work.” With that in mind, I captured the melody and lyrics that emerged and completed the song. I hope to shine a faint light in the corner of the work and occasionally contribute to the drama. We are UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, and we will be performing the opening and ending themes. I appreciate your support.
