Ahead of the announcement of the nominations for the 64th Grammy Awards, predictions are coming out that K-pop stars such as BTS, Black Pink, and Monsta X will be nominated one after another.

The American Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammy Awards, will release the complete list of nominees for the Grammy Awards on the 23rd (local time, early in the morning of the 24th Korean time).

On the 22nd (local time), US media Forbes selected BTS’ Butter to be nominated for ‘Record of the Year’, saying that sometimes there is a clear Grammy Award winner, but this time it is not.

Also, Doja Cat and SZA’s Kiss Me More, Justin Bieber’s Peaches The Kid Laroy, and Justin Bieber’s collaboration song Stay Lil Nas X’s Montero Olivia Rodrigo’s Driver’s License Silk Sonic’s Live the Door Open Taylor Swift’s Willow could be nominated.

The media predicted that BTS could be nominated again at this awards ceremony and perhaps even receive more than one award. Also, BTS has several songs worth considering in the best pop duo/group performance field, but they are likely to submit only one of their songs. Thought to focus on Butter also said there is a ‘real possibility’ to win the trophy for the best pop duo/group performance this time.

The American media Bustle also predicted that Butter could be nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Record of the Year nominations.

Meanwhile, Forbes analyzed that at least four groups deserve nominations, saying that K-pop stars are eligible for Best New Artist nominations, one of the most unpredictable categories every year.

According to a report shared by Billboard, the groups Blackpink, Monsta X, Twice, and Tomorrow X Together are all eligible to be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Still, it is difficult to predict whether they will eventually compete for the award.

For now, this is most likely because Blackpink not only ranked #2 on the Billboard album but was also included in the Hot 100 with several hit songs. Other K-pop groups mentioned have also had commercial success in the United States, but at least in a year, Grammy judges are unlikely to pick more than one group in a genre, Forbes said.

Forbes also predicted that the same K-pop groups NCT, Enhypen, Ateez, Loona, and Itzy could also be included in the Rookie of the Year award nominations.
