Mingi of the group ‘ATEEZ’ decorated a large billboard in Times Square in New York.

According to the global K-pop fandom platform ‘Whosfan’ on the 18th, Mingi asked, ‘Who is the idol who will be celebrated in Times Square?’ It took first place in the voting category in the second week of August.

Mingi, born on August 9, rose to the top with 39.38% of the votes in the one-week voting held from the 19th to the 26th of last month. SF9’s Jaeyoon and Stray Kids’ Changbin took second and third place, respectively.

The advertisement is a building next to ‘that’s, known as the heart of Times Square in New York, and is broadcast on a 47-meter-long large electronic display for a week from the 9th of Mingei’s birthday (local time) to August 15.

On the morning of the 18th, Whosfan released a local video of the advertisement broadcast through YouTube’s ‘Whosfan TV’ channel. In particular, the ad drew attention with a video directly produced by a global fan of ATEEZ’s Mingi.

The image of ‘all-rounder’ Min-gi covering all fields, including dance, rap, and songwriting/composition, was included in the commercial video. In addition, the phrase ‘The king is back’ appeared and congratulated Mingi’s return, which was suspended in November last year.

Meanwhile, ‘Whosfan,’ a global K-pop fandom platform, succeeded in securing 5.5 million users in a year since its launch on May 22 last year. Recently, it has surpassed 6 million users.
