The Belgian Korean Cultural Center (Director Jaehwan Kim) decided to resume regular concerts that were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Korean Cultural Center in Belgium, on the 2nd, regular concerts of various genres such as traditional music, classical music, and jazz will be held as restrictions related to the corona are lifted.

As the first regular concert, the Cultural Center performed ‘Reincarnation’ on the 1st, featuring Korea’s representative live musician Kim Hyo-young, cellist Song Min-JE, and pianist Shin Ji-Yoon.

Next, the Cultural Center plans to perform ‘Korean Fever’, a concert by ‘Seoramie World Music Ensemble’ on the 22nd. The ‘Seorami World Music Ensemble’, formed with gayageum player Rami Seo, is a project group composed of talented musicians based in New York. From traditional music to jazz, K-pop, and creative music, they are actively performing with the goal of globalizing Korean traditional music.

In addition, the Cultural Center is planning to hold a series of performances called ‘KCC New Talents’, which will focus on introducing young Korean classical musicians based in Europe in May. The performances of Korean musicians attending the Royal Academy of Music in Brussels will be held over two days.

In June, the ‘K-Vox Festival’ in Paris, a vocal performance and Korean music workshop in cooperation with the Korea National University of Arts, and a classical music contest held annually by the ‘Music Journal’, a monthly magazine specializing in classical music, in July. A concert for the winners will be held in 2022.

The Korean Cultural Center in Belgium plans to operate a ‘Cine Club’ that introduces excellent Korean films every second Friday of every month and regular concerts. It intends to select and screen films with the theme of modern Korean history.
