Blackpink’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU music video surpasses 1.8 billion times K-pop group record

The music video for the hit song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU released by girl group BLACKPINK in 2018 has been viewed more than 1.8 billion times.

According to the agency YG Entertainment on the 1st, the music video for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU surpassed 1.8 billion views (1.822,064) on YouTube as of 5:48 pm on the same day.

It has been about three years and seven months since the video was released on June 15, 2018.

A representative from YG Entertainment, the agency, explained, “This record is the first and highest number of views for a K-pop group music video.

Immediately after its release, the song entered the US Billboard’s main singles chart, ‘Hot 100’ at #55, and in 2018, it became the most viewed K-pop music video in the world.

In February of last year, YouTube views exceeded 1.5 billion for the first time among all K-pop male and female groups.

Currently, Blackpink’s YouTube channel has more than 71.8 million subscribers, the most among all artists worldwide. In addition, BLACKPINK is the only K-pop group that recorded more than 1.5 billion views in the music video of Blackpink’s other hit song, ‘KILL THIS LOVE,’ with 1.5 billion views.
