Suga, a member of the idol group BTS, donated 100 million won for emergency relief in Turkey and Syria, which suffered from strong earthquakes.
According to Save the Children, an international children’s rights non-governmental organization (NGO) on the 9th, Suga donated 100 million won to children affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria on his birthday (March 9).
Suga said, “I hope that it will be of some help to the children who have suffered damage, and I hope that (donations) will be used to support relief items for children.”
Suga continues to do good deeds through donations on his birthday every year. On his birthday last year, he donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to recover from wildfire damage on the east coast of Gangwon and Gyeongbuk. On his birthday in 2021, he donated 100 million won to Seongseo Dongsan Hospital of Keimyung University in his hometown, Daegu, to treat childhood cancer patients.
Meanwhile, on the 15th of last month, according to the Korean Committee for UNICEF, BTS members Jimin and J-Hope also donated 100 million won each to the ‘Emergency Relief Campaign for Children Victims of Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.’
In addition, group Twice (200 million won), NCT Haechan and Doyoung (100 million won each), ITZY Ryujin (50 million won), Seventeen S.Coups (20 million won), (G)I-DLE Soyeon and Minnie (20 million won each), Stray Kids Changbin Many K-pop idol groups, including Hyunjin (100 million won each), Felix (50 million won), and Ive Starship Entertainment (150 million won), have joined the donation procession.
