Korea International Cultural Exchange Agency ‘K-Pop History and Future Conference’ held online

[Financial News] The ‘K-Pop History and Future Conference’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and hosted by the Korea International Cultural Exchange Promotion Agency and K-Arts Creative will be held online on the 30th.

According to the Korea Institute for International Cultural Exchange on the 25th, the ‘K-Pop History, and Future Conference,’ a side event of the ‘2021 World K-Pop Concert (Korean Cultural Festival)’, includes a conference of academic experts, a round table for foreign students in Korea, a talk show by famous music critics, etc. It consists of a colorful program.

This conference is divided into Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 is ‘Defining K-Pop: Focusing on Changes in Time, Actors, and Media’, and Seoul National University Professor Kim Soo-ah and pop music critic Kim Yun-ha discuss the topic, ‘Some suggestions for archiving living and breathing K-pop.’ Seo Jeong-min-gap, a famous music critic, and Ahn Dae-jin, the CEO of Archive Lab, will discuss.

In the second part, under the theme ‘Encounter of K-Pop and Media Technology: The Expansion of K-Pop as Media Technology, its Possibilities and Limitations,’ Professor Jong-Im Lee of Kyunghee University and Professor Young-Han Cho of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies held a conversation and ‘Cultural Policy for the Future of K-Pop, Under the theme of ‘How to prepare,’ Professor Lee Dong-Yeon of the Korea National University of Arts and Shin Yong-Shik, director of the Hallyu Support and Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will discuss the direction and future of K-pop.

After the first part of the discussion, the ‘K-Pop Abnormal Summit’ is held, where you can hear the stories of foreign students living in Korea. A famous music critic and Kyu-Tak Lee, a professor at George Mason University in Korea, will hold a talk show.

Anyone can participate in this conference non-face-to-face, and it will be broadcast live through the Korean Culture Festival YouTube channel from 2 pm on the 30th.
