The TV animation program “Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V,” produced by Toei in Japan in 1977, was revived as a live-action version in the Philippines and was released in movie theaters on the 19th. Anime began broadcasting in the Philippines in 1978 and became a national boom.
A scenario in which five people fight against an invading army from the Boisan planet with a collaborative robot and protect the earth. The live-action version was produced by the Philippine TV station GMA over about three years.
The TV broadcast will begin on May 8, with 80 episodes. Some of them were made into movies. Toei is also considering TV broadcasting and paid distribution in Japan.
Although it is a remake, director Mark Reyes emphasized, “100% made in the Philippines.”
