All 13 Korean boy group SEVENTEEN members signed an early renewal of their exclusive contracts with their agency Pledis Entertainment.

On Monday, July 19, Pledis Entertainment announced that the group’s members renewed their contracts before expiration in 2022.

“Even ahead of the expiration of the preexisting contracts, the 13 members of SEVENTEEN and the agency discussed the group’s future vision in-depth and reached an agreement, making it possible to renew the contracts early on,” the statement said, according to Soompi.

SEVENTEEN members were quoted as saying that they all “agreed to continue together through our faith in each other and the strong teamwork we built throughout the years, and we will keep doing our best to show good music and cool performances to our fans all over the world as ‘one team’ SEVENTEEN.”

Pledis Entertainment also vowed to “fully support their group promotions as well as their activities.”

After the announcement, SEVENTEEN members took to the Weverse platforms to thank their fans, the CARATs, for their unwavering support.

Since its debut in 2015, SEVENTEEN has become one of the few K-pop groups with member lineup changes.

The contract renewal news came as a breath of fresh air for K-pop fans as several groups and artists have left their original companies in 2021 – GOT7 in January, Sandara Park in May, and GFRIEND in May.
