On the 19th, Chungnam Province and Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, held the ‘2021 2nd K-POP Talk Cafe’ in a non-face-to-face online method.

The K-Pop Talk Café is a project continuously promoted as a participatory international exchange activity that utilizes local content.

In the satisfaction survey conducted after the first event held in February, the participants from both regions expressed their intention to re-participate 100%. They hoped for more participation and exchanges with various subjects. It was established through consultation.

About 30 students, including students from K-Pop High School in Hongseong-gun and high schools in Shizuoka Prefecture, took part, and they talked about Korean culture in various ways.

On this day, the participating students exchanged opinions on significant interests, such as songs with their favorite K-pop singers and the culture of their peers in Korea and Japan, and shared their school life.

There was also a quiz time related to K-pop and introducing tourist attractions, food, and festivals in both regions.

Hong Man-Pyo, head of the International Trade Division, said, “We prepared this event to provide young people from both regions an opportunity to participate in international exchanges that help them acquire an international perspective in a situation where it is difficult to visit overseas due to COVID-19. We will continue to discover and promote international exchange activities in which local youth can participate.”
