by On the 21st, a statue of the popular anime “Mobile Suit Gundam” featuring a rabbit design appeared in a shopping center in the center of Shanghai, China, in connection with this year’s zodiac.
The Bandai Namco Group exhibited in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) holiday that began on the same day. Visitors stopped to take pictures of the unique design.
According to the company, the statue is about 3m tall. A rabbit’s face and ears are modeled on the head and body, and the character “U” is also written.
Kunio Okawara, the mechanical designer of Gundam, designed it based on the original Gundam. It will be installed until February 5th, along with last year’s Zodiac “Tiger” Gundam.
“Zodiac Gundam” is limited to China.
